I’m a member of the Baha’i Faith, and this has influenced my commitment to our children and grandchildren – having spent years involved in a range of organisations –such as Playcentre, Baha’i children’s classes, and also Scouts, youth/children’s camps, etc. I’m now back at Playcentre with our moko – seeing the next generation take up the challenge!
I have worked in Early Childhood Education in private, community-based, home-based, governmental and non-governmental positions for the past 40 years, finally graduating with a Bachelor of Education in 2005. I do caregiving at Rodney Women’s Refuge – for their safehouse and ‘Taonga Ririki’ parenting courses, and I am training to be a Virtues facilitator.
I’m on the committee for Te Herenga Waka o Orewa Marae (17yrs), have been on the Rodney Women’s Refuge Management Committee (3yrs); and Baha’i Local Spiritual Assembly (10yrs)
