It may not be widely known that some parents like to attend multiple parenting courses or even return to the same parenting course. It is not uncommon for parents to return again to exactly the same course they attended a previous term or even a previous year.

Approximately 75% of parents who attend a Whanau Marama Parenting course also attend the other Whanau Marama Parenting courses as well or repeat the same one again.

Why do they do this? They have discovered the power of repetition and the benefits of being supported to further integrate the skills and strategies into their parenting practice. They also return because they appreciate the encouragement and friendship they receive from other parents who also attend the course. Many have then gone to remain friends afterwards.
